Expert Bathroom Remodeling in Geist, Indiana

Bathroom Remodeling in Geist, Indiana

Geist is the part of our service area we work in most, and it is close enough to the HomeStar office that we are on site in minutes rather than driving up from Indianapolis. The waterfront homes, The Estates at Geist, Admirals Pointe and Hamilton Proper were largely built through the 1990s and early 2000s, which puts their original bathrooms at the age where the finishes are dated and the waterproofing behind them — if there was any — is at the end of its life.

We have done more multi-bathroom projects around Geist than anywhere else we work, including a three-bathroom remodel and two children's bathrooms in the same home. Doing several at once is a different job from doing one. The house has to stay livable, so the sequence matters: which bathroom comes out first, which one the family keeps, and how the trades move between them without anyone losing a shower for a fortnight. We schedule that up front rather than discovering it in week two.

Geist homes of this era share a specific set of problems we now expect — builder-grade fiberglass surrounds, garden tubs nobody has used in fifteen years, and a primary bath laid out around a corner tub that eats the floor space a proper walk-in shower needs. Replacing that tub with a large tile shower is the single most common Geist project we take on, and it is always a plumbing job before it is a tile job, which is why our licensed plumbers are on payroll rather than booked in.

Every bathroom we build near Geist uses the complete Schluter waterproofing system with its 25-year manufacturer warranty, installed by our own Schluter Pro Certified crew. Upper-level bathrooms get particular attention, because a failure up there damages the floor below as well — which is exactly what a bonded, properly detailed waterproof envelope is for. Our 1-year workmanship warranty sits on top, and you deal with Eric and Robb throughout.
