A full gut bathroom remodel in Fishers, taken back to the studs and rebuilt around a walk-in shower. A dark stained double vanity carries a marble countertop and champagne bronze widespread faucets beneath two octagonal framed mirrors and exposed-bulb sconces. The shower has a hexagon marble mosaic floor with a decorative square drain, a handheld on a slide bar, and textured white wall tile, with a half wall keeping the glass short and the room open.

The homeowners wanted a walk-in shower and a bathroom that felt built rather than assembled, and getting there meant a full gut. Everything came out and the room went back to the studs, which is the honest way to do it when the shower is moving and the waterproofing has to start from nothing.
The wet area was rebuilt from the substrate up. The shower sits on a sloped pan, and a half wall between the shower and the vanity keeps the glass short so the room stays open rather than being divided by a full-height enclosure.
Every wall inside the wet area is Schluter Kerdi-Board, bonded and sealed at the seams and the fasteners before a single tile went on. It is visible in our progress footage with the manufacturer's printing still on the panels, which is the only stage of a bathroom where the waterproofing can be seen at all.
The finishes were chosen to read warm rather than clinical. The double vanity is dark stained and stands on furniture legs, under a marble top with undermount basins and champagne bronze widespread faucets. Two octagonal framed mirrors replace the usual single builder mirror, lit by exposed-bulb sconces. Inside the shower, textured white wall tile, a handheld on a slide bar, and a hexagon marble mosaic floor laid as much for grip as for looks, finished with a decorative square drain instead of a plain grate.
A bathroom with no leftover parts. The walk-in shower is the center of the room rather than a box in the corner, the vanity reads as furniture instead of a builder cabinet, and every tiled surface sits on the complete Schluter system. The work carries our 1-year workmanship warranty, and the waterproofing carries Schluter's 25-year manufacturer warranty.
